Travis Daise, MD

Dr. Daise was born and raised in Goodland, Kansas, graduating from Goodland High School in 1992. He attended Kansas University and received a BA in Biology. He continued with KU and received his medical degree in 2000. Dr. Daise is Board Certified in Family Practice. He completed his three-year residency at the Smoky Hills Family Practice in Salina.

Dr. Daise believes that “managing your health care is a partnership. I like to provide information and recommendations to my patients, and then we, as partners, consider the options and make decisions together.”

Jose Renteria

Jose Renteria, APRN, ACNP-C, FNP-C

Jose Renteria was born in California, grew up in Durango, Mexico, and currently resides in Great Bend, Kansas with his wife, Alma, daughter, and two dogs. In 2014, he received a Master of Science in Nursing from Wichita State University and previously a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fort Hays State University. Jose is certified in Acute Care and Family Practice Nurse Practitioner. Jose is bilingual in Spanish and English and can read and write Spanish perfectly.

Julie Juenemann

Julie Juenemann, APRN

Not a new face to many in the community, but Julie Juenemann, now an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), is now a full-time provider at Rawlins County Health Center.

Julie has been with RCHC since 2012, working as an RN in the past.  She started advanced education and clinicals to receive her APRN, in 2021.  She was most recently working in an urgent care setting in Hays and Oakley.

“I am very excited to be back full-time at Rawlins County Health Center, this time as an APRN, forming close relationships with my patients,” stated Juenemann. “I’ve always felt very welcome in Atwood and look forward to bringing a focus to women’s health and family healthcare to my practice.”

Paul Young

Paul Young, PA-C, MMS

Paul Young is a Certified Physician Assistant with a Master’s Degree in Medical Science. He has spent the last 14 years predominantly working in emergency medicine, including a level one trauma center as well as rural critical access hospitals. In addition, Mr. Young has spent time working in primary care in Boulder, Colorado.

Furthermore, Mr. Young works for the United States Department of Health and Human Services as part of the Colorado 3 Disaster Medical Assistance Team. He has been deployed several times to major disaster relief efforts, working in temporary field hospitals as well as stand-by medical coverage for large events including medical coverage for the United States Capital at The State of the Union Address.

Mr. Young grew up in Chicago and relocated to New Mexico at an early age. He then moved to Boulder, Colorado to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder where he received his undergraduate degree in biology. Mr. Young subsequently spent several years training and working as an EMT and paramedic throughout Colorado and New Mexico before pursuing his career as a Physician Assistant. He attended Emory University School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program to become a PA and earn his Master’s Degree in Medical Science, where he graduated at the top of his class. In addition, he has also completed a certificate in global health through the John Hopkins School of Public Health and a Fellowship in Wilderness Medicine through the Academy of Wilderness Medicine.

In his personal time, Mr. Young spends his time with his two daughters and caring for his geriatric cats. In addition, he is an avid rock climber and mountaineer and spends the rest of his free time outside climbing and appreciating the mountains of colorful Colorado as well as working on never-ending home projects.

Brian Holmgren

Brian Holmgren, PA-C, MMS

Brian Holmgren was born and raised in Saint James, Minnesota, with a population of 4,500. He attended Minnesota State University, Mankato, and graduated with a degree in Exercise Physiology and Chemistry. After graduation, he was accepted into an internship program at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, New York.

Post internship, he decided to pursue his other passion for EMS and moved to Denver, Colorado to attend paramedic school at Denver Health Medical Center. As a paramedic, he worked in the 911 system for 6 years for two major Level 1 Trauma Centers in the country, including Denver Paramedics and Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Using paramedicine as a stepping stone, he then decided to pursue his current career as a Physician Assistant. He attended Red Rocks Community College in Denver and obtained his Medical Masters at St Francis University in Loretto, Ohio. He was elected student vice president for the graduating class of 2012. Brian has spent the last 8 years working in the emergency department at St. Anthony’s Hospital, one of the Level 1 Trauma Centers in Denver. He was recently selected as the 2019 physician assistant of the year. Outside of work, he spends most of his time traveling, mountain biking/camping, and skiing.

Andrew Vu, PA-C

Andrew Vu was born and raised in Wichita and currently resides in Westminster, CO with his wife and their two dogs. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Wichita State University, where he developed an early interest in human performance and physiology.

After graduation, Andrew began his career as a respiratory therapist, working for eight years at multiple Level I Trauma Centers throughout the Denver metro area. During that time, he cared for patients in emergency and critical care settings and worked as part of multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

He later decided to further his education and pursue a career as a Physician Assistant at Rocky Vista University. As he continues his career, he looks forward to opportunities that allow him to serve and practice in his home state of Kansas.

Outside of work, Andrew enjoys staying active through Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, as well as playing golf and tennis.
